become a registered member of St. Agnes Church?
All Catholic people
should be registered in a parish within whose boundaries they live.
To register at St. Agnes parish you may call the parish office at
724-863-2626 to receive a registration packet. The packet will
contain a registration form, temporary envelopes and material on
organizations that are active within our parish.
As a registered
member of our parish you will receive all of the mailings throughout
the year and receive bi-monthly offertory envelopes.

obtain
a Sponsor Certificate to be a Godparent for Baptism or Sponsor for
Confirmation?
Registered members of St. Agnes parish wishing to receive a
Sponsor Certificate must meet the following requirements as set
forth by Canon Law:

Be at least 16
years old.

Be a registered
member of St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church.

Support St.
Agnes Church with their presence at Sunday Mass each week and
have made their Easter Duty yearly.

Have received
the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and First Eucharist in
the Roman Catholic Church.
-
Have not joined
another faith or denomination nor professed allegiance to any
faith or denomination other than the Holy Roman Catholic Church.
-
If married:
be married by a Roman Catholic Priest or obtained the correct
canonical dispensations otherwise. If divorced, have not
remarried or attempted marriage a second time without a Decree
of Nullity for the first marriage.
Nota Bene: A
baptized Roman Catholic who is married outside of the Church or who
has left the faith may not stand as a Sponsor or a Christian
Witness.
To receive a Sponsor Certificate, please call the parish
office so our staff may verify the above information and make
arrangements for you to sign the certificate during business hours
or, if needed, set up an evening or weekend appointment with the
priest. The person needing the certificate must come in person
as their signature, the priest’s signature and the church seal all
are required on the Sponsor Certificate.

a date to have our baby baptized?
Prior to setting a
date for baptism, parents should have completed a Baptismal
Preparation Session. Sessions are offered periodically
throughout the year. Call the Religious Education Office at
724-864-5393 for information on the next session. You do not
need to take the class again if you have already taken one for your
first child. Once your baby is born, call the parish
office at 724-863-2626 to schedule the baptism. Baptisms take
place on Sundays at 1:00 p.m.
start
planning my wedding?
As soon as a
couple is ready to start planning their marriage, they should
contact the parish office at 724-863-2626 to speak with the priest.
Weddings take place on Saturdays at 2:30 p.m. Couples must
also complete their choice of one of two marriage preparation
programs available in our Diocese: Sponsor Couple Program (a
one-on-one program with a Marriage Sponsor couple) or the Diocesan
Engaged Encounter Weekends (available periodically and at a cost to
the couple).
