Children's Religious Education Programs

Pre-K (4 year olds) & KN Religious Education

Starting our children off early is an important part of incorporating our faith into our children's lives.  The Pre-K/Kindergarten religious education is held on Sunday mornings during the 9:00 a.m. Mass in the Old Convent.      Top of Page

1st & 2nd Grade Sacrament Preparation

The students in the Sacrament Preparation program are our first and second grade children who are preparing to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation, First Eucharist in the spring of their second grade year.  Sunday morning classes (meet between the two morning Masses) and occasional Saturday retreats help these students grow in the understanding needed to receive these Sacraments.  Attendance in both 1st and 2nd grade is required to receive the sacraments in 2nd grade.

3rd & 4th Grade Home Study Groups

Students in third and fourth grades meet weekly in their teacher’s home to continue their religious education within the warm, friendly environment of their friends and neighbors, further reinforcing that religion is not just for Sundays, but something we practice every day and everywhere.                    Top of Page

Vacation Bible School (Grades KN-5th)

Our yearly thematic Vacation Bible School is for children Kindergarten through 5th grade.  Volunteers — adults and older youth — are needed to assist with teaching, music, snacks, and more during this one week summer morning program.

Junior Youth Ministry (JYM) - Grades 5th - 8th

JYM is for the continuing spiritual and faith formation of children in grades 5 through 8.  These students meet for religious education, retreats, community service projects and special outings.  The JYM program has a new look!  Our JYM will be combining with the youth groups from St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and Immaculate Conception parishes.  We will now meet on Sunday evenings at the Bishop Bosco Center with occasional other days.  Service opportunities, retreat experiences, speakers, field trips and more are planned.   The schedule is available through the link at the top of the page.  For more information, photos and links for Catholic youth visit the Greater Norwin Area Catholic Youth website at www.gnacyouth.org.

Greater Norwin Area Catholic Youth (Sr. Youth Ministry - SYM) - Grades 9th - 12th

A regional youth group for students in grades 9 through 12 that meets on Sunday evenings at the Bishop Bosco Center and rotates monthly Teen Hope Masses at St. Agnes, Immaculate Conception, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parishes.  The adult leaders work at promoting religious, social, educational, and cultural awareness for the young adults in this age group.  A registration form, schedule and release form for SYM is available through the link at the top of the page.  For more information, photos and links for Catholic youth visit the Greater Norwin Area Catholic Youth website at www.gnacyouth.org.                          Top of Page
